Housing Authority of Cook County Executive Director Richard Monocchio in partnership with the Cook County Forest Preserves and Friends of the Forest Preserves
is pleased to announce 50 Summer Jobs for HACC residents and voucher holders ages 14-19, with an additional 10 jobs for candidates over the age of 21. The Forest Preserve Experience program (FPE) is a five-week conservation service-learning opportunity designed to expose individuals to nature, historic preservation, and outdoor recreation and education. Selected candidates will participate on crews that consist of 15-17 high school students and two adult team leaders.
As a team, the crew will perform park maintenance and ecological restoration projects in the Forest Preserves of Cook County for five weeks. A large focus of this program will also be dedicated to environmental enrichment and exposure to nature.
The program will run from June 27, to July 28, 2017. Fifty students will work Tuesday-Friday, 20 hours/week and receive a daily wage of $8.25/hr.
