Newsflash

In August I issued my first quarterly newsletter. Do to costs it was not available to everyone through the mail. I am working on securing funding from private sources to mail out the next issue to as many as I can as well as dropping off copies at some local places of business.

Log in and check the Policy section to download the first issue. Also, if you would like to receive the newsletter by email in the future please send me an email and I will send it to you.

Dear visitor,

You may notice that some things have changed on the site. I have been migrating my site to a new server. In the process some information has been lost and I have had to update my template which has caused some formatting errors. The new site should be up soon.

Introduction of Design Review Corrections

Historic preservation seems to always be well received by the community at-large, however, it is rarely put into practice. There have been efforts recently to apply guidelines for Historic preservation and setting design guidelines for our modern commerce park. However, the city is faced with having roadblocks in the way of taking on these plans.

I have proposed a simple revision to our codified ordinances to allow for the future creation of design review districts and city landmarks. The ordinance would allow for future expansion of the existing board by adding a member for each new landmark and/or district and cleans up the section of the codes that designates the actual district or landmark.

The legislation is being introduced tonight. If you have any thoughts on what could be declared a landmark or an idea for a preservation district please email or call me. Currently there are talks about creating design guidelines for the Pearl Avenue Corridor and the Colorado Commerce Park.
